1964 Corvette Fuel Injected Coupe

v_after1.JPG

This Vette project started with a correct numbers matching, fuel injected, 4.56 rear gears and knock-off wheel car.  It looked alright from a distance but the body, engine and transmission needed to be restored.  The goal was not to do an NCRS restoration but to end up with a strong running Injected Vette with a laser straight body and to be highly detailed.  The goal was met.

A Corvette expert was located to do the body work.  He started by hand stripping the 40-year old repaint. Next he hand-blocked the body, adding new fiberglass mat when needed.  He was very methodical in his work and the results are amazing.

The frame had some rust in the typical locations. The frame was blasted, rust removed, new metal welded in place and then it was powder coated.  All of the suspension, brakes, fuel systems and driveline components were rebuilt and detailed.

The engine, fuel unit and transmission were rebuilt by a builder who worked on these cars when they were new.

The interior was mostly original and the leather only required cleaning. New carpets and trim were installed; the AM/FM radio and clock were also rebuilt.

This Corvette is incredible to drive.  The Fuel Injection is perfectly tuned and the car has endless power.  It is also smooth with no wind noise or rattles; it is very well-sorted and looks like nothing else!
